Starting this cookbook has
been in my mind for a very long time, As is the case so often with such
projects, it was put off for a while; but, once I, finally got started, it
began to snowball, I've been very pleased with the response and interest
shown by our families,
There are still some more family members from whom I hope to receive
recipe contributions, Please don't feel shy about sending me some anytime!
We'll get them printed as soon as we can.
This was never meant to be a one-time publicatlon. The cookbook is
designed to be on-going · a "living" cookbook which, in part, will be a
tribute to our ancestors and all the great cooks who preceded us. I hope
to be able to include an Heirloom Section in the future, with copies of
recipes handwritten by the cooks who made them famous (within the family,
that is!); if anyone has more of these originals, I'd be glad to have them
so we can duplicate them and pass them on to be included In all our books,
The book is also meant to introduce our present and future generations to
all our good cooks of today, and their families' favorite foods, It's my
hope that we'll continue to exchange recipes and add to our FAMILY TIES
cookbooks throughout the years,
I hope you'll all enjoy the book - it's been a labor of love.,,,,
POSTSCRIPT: 10 years (1997) later. With the advent of
computers and the internet, I'm hopeful that the youngest members of our
families will now have an even better opportunity to access FAMILY TIES,
and that they'll send along some of their best food ideas. Use my
